Voyager XT

I have been involved in archery and bow hunting for 4 decades, even working in an archery pro-shop for a time. I was a serious competitor in field archery years ago, but today I focus my energy on bow hunting.

In the middle of last year’s archery season my faithful old bow of 12 years finally gave up the ghost and I bought the Mission Voyager XT. I cannot say enough about this bow. I have a relatively long-draw, so the 34″ riser is a nice feature. I had this bow set up and shooting extremely tight groups out to 50 yards in almost no time at all. The speed was only 2 fps less than the top-of-the line Matthews bows.

Two weeks after purchasing the bow I took a very respectable 12-point with it at 35 yards…one shot through the lungs.

This bow has everything a serious bow hunter and field archer needs. Smooth, highly accurate, and fast/flat shooting performance. GREAT bow. Thanks, Matthews-Mission for such a great product.

The Voyager is everything that I was looking for in a bow. The length makes it steady and it is a smooth drawing bow. It has good speed and is dead in the hand. Some may think it is a bit heavy but that just makes it that much easier to hold on the spot. It just seams to point itself and and just set there on target be it a deer or a bullseye. When shooting on the line many have commented on how quiet it is.

Awesome! The best bow I have ever shot, from field points to broadheads without moving anything. I was shooting a crossbow with a four blade muzzy broadhead. When I got this Voyager bow I already had these broadheads so thought I would put one on and hit the same spot. That never happened with a three bladed broadhead or any other bow so I am so proud of this setup. It don’t get any better for a boy from Alabama.

I got myself a Mission Voyager in 2011, and let me tell you, from the moment I took the first shot, I was hooked.
I have never shot a bow so quite, forgiving and deadly in my life.
I just love this bow!

I recently purchased a 2010 Mission Voyager , and to say the least , I was impressed . I have a new Z7 extreme , never have liked it , just to damn short . I was actually looking for a used DXT or Reezen when I ran across the voyager , new in the box. So after about an hour of installing a downforce rest , and HHA sight out in the yard I went . Im shooting 29 in draw and 70 lb , installed monkey tails ( really didnt need them , but I thought I heard a ever so slight difference ). the bow is smoooooth shooting , and fast . QUIET , and dead in hand. I did install an Axiom stabilizer , then an old trusty Vibrocheck ( liquid filled , had it 20 years I guess , still the best ) then finally screwed the Axiom into the end of the Vibrocheck , lol , it looks good and shoots great. Anyhow , Im shooting 28″ maxima hunters , and 100 grain slick tricks , and I am ( when Im shooting good ) putting them into a nice 3.5″ cluster at 65 yards , all day long. this bow shoots , the 34 ” ATA makes it hold solid , you just have to shoot one to see . It is now week tow of our bow season here in NC , and the voyager has taken one 8pt ( a shooter , not a monster ) one doe ( she was a monster , field dressed 168 pounds , thats a good doe here ) and three coyotes ( one at 81 yards ) .. folks , if you are looking for a real hunting bow , here it is ..

Advantages … Fast , holds rock solid , longer ATA means extra steady , and still short enough for a hunting bow . Price is good , zero vibration , quiet , and dead nuts accurate .

Add on a good stabilizer , not the little 3″ model , take a look at paper punchers , there is a reason they have all that junk on a bow , most will do better with a 10-14 inch stabilizer , try it , and if you can find an old vibracheck TRY IT . there great , they work like they are suposed to ,, oh and HHA makes the best sight in the world , try one of them to ,

Draw back , the only thing I dont like about it is the draw cycle , it is tough , just like the Reezen from Mathews , the speed cam has a hard cycle , but when it breaks over its nothing and rock solid .

wow almost bought the bear apprentice for my son and daughter so glad i didn’t. I just recently bought a new Mathews Z7 Extreme when i stumbled on the new craze or new to me i knew about the menace and just felt it was a little to big over all for my son axle to axle that is so i got him the craze and at its smallest draw it fit him perfect unfortunately his max draw weight is only 15 lbs and you don’t get much penetration till about 20 lbs so i told him to eat his spinach lol he will grow in to it and that is what is so grate about the craze and menace in fact that is what my daughter ended up with the menace she is a little older by 4 years and at a 23 inch draw and 25 lbs she is knocking arrows at 15 yards and she is loving it and after watching them the past 2 weeks that they have had them I got to say I’m loving it too and i really got to tell ya the apprentice next to the craze and menace well there is no comparison I’ll put it like this i thought about the apprentice for 4 months and in hand for about 4 minutes i said sold to the craze and menace there is just something about Mathews bow products that when you pick them up well it just feels right like a nice Benelli shot gun or a fine wine Mathews is truly high class

I just picked up my Voyager XT this past Tuesday and it is a great bow! It draws and shoots very smoothly. I previously owned a Mathews Legacy and a Mathews LX and I loved both of them. I used to shoot left handed and had to re-learn how to shoot right handed because of problems with my left eye. I am retired now and many of the newer Mathews bows are a little out of my price range. The Voyager XT has very similar specifications to the two bows I used to shoot and is comparable in quality and value.

This bow is awsome. I have shot many other bows and thought I was happy and had a great bow until I got the Voyager XT. Smooth drawing coupled with next to no vibration on the shot is un real. This is by far the best bow I have ever shot. I cant wait to get my first kill on this bow. And next year it will be the choice wepon to take my first black bear in canada. If you havent checked this bow out get to your neariest dealer and get one in your hands. You will be very impressed.

Just finished shooting and tweaking the new Voyager XT…..UNBEEEEELIEVABLE! This bow is smooth, forgiving, no vibration and drives tacks out to 50yds. Can’t wait to get in a tree with it!
